The Embry-Riddle men's golf team has competed in just one event so far this season, and the solid performance earned them a place in the rankings. After just receiving votes in the preseason edition of the NAIA Coaches' Poll, the Eagles were placed at 22 after receiving 205 votes.
ERAU finished sixth at the Bulldog Fall Invitational, as they competed well with some of the best NCAA Division II golfers. Coming off his All-American freshman season, Trevor Lewis finished second in Redlands, and every Eagle finished inside the top 50 of a large field.
The Eagles will get back on the course this weekend, hosting its Fall Invitational. The first two rounds from the Antelope Hills North Golf Course is scheduled for Sunday, October 8.
Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
• Each conference is represented by one rater.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes.
