TUCSON, Ariz. – Competing at the Willie Williams Classic at the University of Arizona, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's distance tuned in some strong performances, especially in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday.
Junior Josey Gregory (Pensacola, Fla.) ran strong, finishing third in 11:50.43. Closing hard behind her was freshman Savannah Ganter (Yucaipa, Calif.) who came within half a second of her teammate in 11:50.80.
Gregory also ran in the 800 meters on Saturday and turned in the best time on the team with a 2:27.62, taking third in a fast heat. Sophomore Skylar Cooney (Cumberland, Maine) was also impressive for the Eagles, winning her heat by a large margin in 2:27.71, just .09 off the time of Gregory.
