Mesa, Ariz.-Due to quite a bit of lightning in the Mesa, Ariz. area last night, the Embry-Riddle men's golf team had to finish up the rest of their first round this morning. After round one, the team found themselves in 17th place, right at the line for the cut as they headed out in the early tee time group from hole #10 today at Las Sendas Golf Club.
ERAU shot a 305 on Monday, but did much better Tuesday firing a 292 to finish the day +4 as a team. The Eagles are currently in a tie with Rocky Mountain and Oklahoma City in 11th place. Trevor Lewis (Prescott, Ariz.) is tied for 5th as he finished the first two rounds -2. Lewis is only three strokes back from first place individually. He is followed by Tyler Macpherson (Gilbert, Ariz.) who is in a tied for 46th place. Joseph Allen (Gig Harbor, Wash.) and Jordan Garypie are tied and are +9 after their first two rounds. Rounding out the Eagles is Alex Lasalarie (St. Pierre, France) who is +13.
This is the second time in the last three seasons Embry-Riddle has made the cut with the last coming in May of 2021 when the championship was held at Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
