Sophia Noriega ran away with the GSAC Women's Cross Country Individual Title finishing 25 seconds faster than her nearest competitor as Embry-Riddle took 2nd as a team at the race hosted at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale on Friday morning.
The Master's University just edged out the Eagles with a final score of 34 and ERAU finished with 35 team points.
Noriega ran the 6K race in 21:39.1.Â
Mia Kemp came in 4th overall finishing in 22:17.8. Next for Embry-Riddle was
Taryn Janssen. Janssen covered the course in 22:33 which put her in 7th overall.Â
Heidi Donovan came in 10th with a time of 22:46 and
Makenna Bray finished in 13th with a time of 22:51. Coming in 15th overall was
Tiffany Terry with a time of 23:05.4. Rounding out the Eagles top seven was
Carlee Murphy with a time of 23:20.3. Â
Kylie Monson,
Elyse Grant, and
Fionnula Carew finished in 23rd, 24th, and 25th with times of 24:33 for Monson, Grant finished in 24:55, and Carew with a time of 25:18.Â
Ariela Lerner finished in 26:34 and
Kennedy Munoz in 26:50.Â
Mia Sanchez ran the race in 28:39 for the Eagles. Â
Noriega, Kemp, Janssen, and Donovan were all named to the GSAC All-Conference team.
Embry-Riddle will wait to see if they get an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship race which will take place November 21, 2025 Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
