KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) sophomore Jonathan Tso used a birdie on the final hole of Texas Wesleyan's Northwest Iowa Invitational to win, last week, capping a 13-under par 68-68-64 that won by a stroke over Chris Drake from Grand View (Iowa).

The win earned the Prescott, Ariz., native NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week honors for Sept. 30.

Tso was spectacular in the final round, saving his best for a 7-under 64. He trailed by three strokes through 36 holes after back-to-back 68s in the tournament's opening two rounds.

He began the final round with a bogey but immediately erased it with a birdie at the par-3 second, the first of four front-nine birdies for Tso on the day. Another bogey hit the card at No. 9, but Tso turned and made an eagle on No. 10, a par 4, which was the start of a back nine that included three birdies, including a tournament clinching three on the final hole.

Tso's win helped the Eagles finish second, four behind nationally ranked OUAZ (Ariz.). Embry-Riddle's is now two tournaments in, also finishing second at OUAZ's event Sept. 28-29, and they're back on the golf course at home Oct. 12-13, hosting the ERAU Fall Invitational at Antelope Hills (North), in Prescott.
