Before arriving on the Embry-Riddle campus, Fundalewicz worked as an assistant coach for the Northern Arizona University women’s basketball team. While at NAU, he was responsible for coaching the guard positions, while also assisting with game scheduling, scouting and recruiting.

Prior to his time at NAU, Fundalewicz spent the 2010-11 season as the Head Men's Basketball coach for Yavapai College in Prescott after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach for the Roughriders. During these five seasons at YC, he was responsible for recruiting four all-conference performers, as well as two student-athletes that were awarded ACCAC Freshmen of the Year. Following a 2009-10 season with just three victories, Fundalewicz turned the program around in his only year leading the Roughriders to 12 wins and finishing just one game out of playoff contention. His team finished the year ranked in the top-25 in the nation in three offensive statistical categories, and three of his players were named Academic All-American. It was at Yavapai College where Fundalewicz earlier began his post-graduate coaching career. From 2000-2003, he was an assistant for both the men’s and women's basketball programs. During this first stint on the staff, he helped compile an overall record of 66-27, and recruited 10 All-Conference performers, including two Kodak Junior College All-Americans.

Before his return to Yavapai College in 2006, Fundalewicz served as an assistant with the Cal State Northridge women's basketball program for a season, followed by two years at St. Francis University (Pa.). His time at St. Francis included being part of the staff that captured the Northeastern Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2005. Additionally, he was responsible for bringing two NJCAA All-Americans into the program, as well as coaching two All-Northeast Conference players.

Prior to starting his career coaching in the collegiate ranks, Fundalewicz spent his undergraduate years as a student-assistant coach at Northern Arizona University while receiving his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Fundalewicz earned his Master's degree in Leadership from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
