Rick Covard joined the Sports Medicine staff in 2024. Prior to coming to Prescott, Covard spent the last four years at Arizona State University working with the Ice Hockey team.
Before ASU, he spent seven years working at the professional hockey level and four years working as an outreach athletic trainer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
A native of Rochester, NY, Rick completed his Bachelor of Science in History and Athletic Training from Charleston Southern University in 1999. He then went on to Clarion University of Pennsylvania to earn his Master of Science in Rehab Science in 2001.
Rick is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in Arizona. He is a professional member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers’ Society, Arizona Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association.
In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, exploring Arizona, traveling, and playing golf.
