Eagles Improve to 18-3

Riverside, Calif. - The Embry-Riddle women's volleyball secured their 18th win of the year today against Cal Pac rival La Sierra on the road.

The last time The Eagles were in the Golden Eagles gymnasium was during last years Cal Pac Championship, when host La Sierra came up with a big win defeating ERAU in three straight sets. The Eagles already had one victory against the Golden Eagles this season defeating them at home 3-1 on Oct. 1st. Although their home victory was a step to overcome last years heartbreak, today's contest was huge for The Eagles as they prepare for the Cal Pac tournament in two weeks.

The Golden Eagles came out strong, winning the first set 18-25. Leaders for the were Briana Greeley with 14 kills, Taylor Morgan with 3.5 blocks, Marissa Fregosa with 29 assists and Emily Morgan with 25 digs. Although the Golden Eagles came out strong the first set, The Eagles could not be stopped. They battled their way back through a killer second set that had the Golden Eagles at set point 24-21. The Eagles scored three consecutive times to tie the game 24-24. The Eagles continued to attack La Sierra to come up with a 30-28 victory on a kill by Jalin Yoder. Yoder led all Eagles with 20 kills that helped cement victories in the third and forth sets (25-17 and 25-22). Other Eagles leaders were Megan Riley with 29 digs, Hannah Mercurio with 36 assists, Madison Fancher with 2 blocks, and Hannah Mercurio with 3 aces.

The Eagles continue their road trip tomorrow when they face Life Pacific at 2:00 PM and Providence Christian at 7:00 PM. GO EAGLES!
