Eagles and Bobcats Face Off Today

Prescott - The Embry-Riddle men's and women's soccer teams travel to Merced to face the Bobcats today in a Cal Pac showdown.

On the men's side UC-Merced has been a thorn in the side of The Eagles. Winning six out of seven meetings since 2013. They have also knocked ERAU out of the Cal Pac Conference Tournament in the semi-finals round for the past two years defeating The Eagles (0-3) in 2016 and (0-2) in 2015. The Eagles lone win against UCM was November 1, 2013 in a 3-2 victory. The Bobcats are currently in second place in the Cal Pac with a 3-0-1 conference record and a 5-0-4 overall record. They have not lost a game in 2017.

The Eagles are currently fourth in the Cal Pac, with their sole loss at the hands of No. 18 Marymount. Overall ERAUis 5-5, under new head Coach Dan Balaguero and look to improve their all-time record against Merced.

The ladies have had the advantage over the Bobcats. Since 2013 ERAUhas one four out of the teams eight meetings and three ties. The Eagles greatest victory over UCM came in 2015 when Embry-Riddle brought home the conference championship after a 0-0 tie. After two tense overtime periods, The Eagles were able to defeat the Bobcats with penalty kicks 5-4. Embry-Riddle is currently 2-0 in the Cal Pac and 8-3 overall and share the undefeated conference top spot with RV Antelope Valley. No. 18 ERAUlooks to continue their conference winning streak today against the Bobcats.
