VALLEJO, Calif. – In their second game on their California Pacific Conference road trip, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's soccer team (7-5-1, 6-2) kept up their scoring ways as they put in four goals and beat California State – Maritime (1-8, 1-7) 4-0.
Once again the Eagles were ready to go from the opening whistle and started pouring on goals. Within the first ten minutes, ERAU scored two goals. Simon Jensen (SO/Boras, Sweden) got the Eagles on the board first and only 26 seconds later Jacob Baker (SO/Graham, Wash.) would add the second. Baker has now extended his point streak to an astounding eight games. ERAU would get their third goal just ten minutes later after Baker would play a ball into Daniel Nunez (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.) who headed it past the keeper. There would be a lot more chances in the half but no other goals were scored.
It would be a lot of the same in the second half as the Eagles kept the pressure on the Keelhaulers. Riddle would end the game with 15 shots on goal compared to the Keelhaulers four. After a few chances early in the second half the Eagles would get their fourth and final goal on a great ball from Chiedu Ikeme (FR/Inverness, Scotland) to Ethan Carlson (FR/Edgewood, Wash.) who wouldn't miss his chance to get on the board. Jake Hutto (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) recorded another shutout for the Eagles today and is his third on the season.
ERAU will be back in action next Thursday (10/18) at home as they take on La Sierra University (6-6, 3-2) at 7:30 p.m.
