Career Night For Skurdal Helps The Eagles Passed MU

CALDWELL, Idaho – Behind Logan Skurdal (SR/Meridian, Idaho)'s 35 points, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's basketball (3-3) came out victorious in their first game against Multnomah University (5-1) at the Domino's Classic hosted by the College of Idaho, 89-83.

Nick Johnson (JR/Anthem, Ariz.) would score three of the first four buckets for the Eagles before Skurdal took over. A Meridian (Idaho) native, the senior was lighting it up from everywhere on the court going 7-12 from the field and 3-6 from three just in the first half. Johnson would add 11 in the half as well but it was all Skurdal who put in 20 of his own.

ERAU would throw up 50 in the first half which is only the second time this season the team has scored that much in a half. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Lions kept themselves within striking distance and went to the half only down ten.

It was a lot more Skurdal in the second half as the Eagles kept feeding the hot hand back in his home state. He would add 15 more points to his total. By the end of the game he'd come out with a career high 35. MU came roaring back by limting the Eagles to only 39 points in the half but could not close the distance enough before the buzzer sounded.

Gilbert Ibarra (JR/Prescott Valley, Ariz.) was effective in the second half by scoring 7 on 3-4 shooting and ended up with another double digit point performance. Johnson would get a double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds to add to his 17 points on the night.

At this point the Eagles hope that Skurdal can stay hot overnight and carry it into their next game tomorrow (11/17) against the host of the tournament #3 COI (8-0) at 7:00 pm MST.
