ERAU Beats UAV To Stay At Top Of Cal Pac

LANCASTER, Calif. – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's soccer flexed their offensive muscle against the University of Antelope Valley in Lancaster on Sunday afternoon, wining 3-1 and winning their fifth game in California Pacific Conference play.

It started in the 12th minute as the Eagles (9-3-1, 5-1 Cal Pac) scored the first goal of the match. Alex Reinert (SO/Frisco, Texas) assisted Jacob Baker (JR/Graham, Wash.) to get the Eagles on the board. ERAU controlled the Pioneers (5-6-1; 2-3-0 Cal Pac) in the first half getting 10 shots in the half compared to UAVs five. ERAU led 1-0 at the half.

Reinert got on the board himself 15 minutes into the half, to separate the two teams. Just moments later the Pioneers made it interesting by scoring and making it 2-1. The Eagles put it to rest in the 90th minute when Mason Laaksonen (SR/Austin, Texas) scored his 12th of the season and is only a few away from tying the record for most goals in a season.

ERAU will play Cal-State Maritime on Friday at 7:30 pm MST.
