Embry-Riddle Comes Back to Down Benedictine-Mesa

Mesa, Ariz. – After dropping its first set, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's volleyball team came back to take the next three against Benedictine-Mesa to take its California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac) match. The Eagles won 11-25, 25-14, 27-25, 25-16. Caylee Robalin (SR/El Paso, Texas) had 14 kills and Erin Clark (SR/Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs for EARU.

Benedictine-Mesa jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first set and never looked back. Embry-Riddle. The Eagles turned the tables in the second set, with a pair of kills by Clark resulting in a 12-6 lead. The Redhawks could not put together consecutive points the rest of the way as ERAU went on to win it on a block from Dalia Haase (FR/Tucson, Ariz.).

Embry-Riddle trailed 17-13 in the third set, but scored seven straight, with three of the points coming on Robalin kills, to take a 20-17 lead. BenU came back with four straight pints to tighten things up again before the Eagles came up with kills by Katie Rolle (JR/Missoula, Mont.) and Clark to end it.

ERAU had it rolling in the fourth set, running out to an 18-7 lead after a Robalin kill. Benedictine scored four straight to get within eight points, but it would be as close as the Redhawks would get. The Eagles went on to score six out of nine to win it.
