Box Score Prescott, Ariz. – Only one goal was scored in the game, and it belonged to Embry-Riddle as the Eagles picked up a 1-0 victory over UC Merced. Haley Harris (SO/Tucson, Ariz.) scored the goal for ERAU, with the Eagle defense picking up its ninth shutout of the season.
UC Merced got a couple of early looks at goals, putting a pair of shots on goal in the first five minutes of action. Mackenzie Osther (SR/San Diego, Calif.) was up to the task in goal for Embry-Riddle, saving both shots. ERAU had the upper hand after that, getting off 10 shots over the last 40 minutes of the half while limiting UC Merced to just one. None of the Eagle shots found the mark, however, as the Bobcat goalie made eight saves to keep the game scoreless.
Embry-Riddle kept up the offensive pressure at the start of the second half, peppering the UC Merced goal with eight shots in the first 33 minutes. Again, none found the mark, with the closest coming when Kylee Bennett (SO/Pocatello, Idaho) hit the crossbar in the 68th minute. In the 73rd minute the Bobcats were called for a foul that resulted in a direct kick opportunity for the Eagles. Harris stepped up and this time put a tally on the board, lofting her shot into the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season.
ERAU's defense did the rest, holding UCM to just one more shot the rest of the way. That was turned aside by Osther who picked up her fourth shutout of the season.
