All Treats for 25th-Ranked Eagles in Regular Season's Last Match

Box Score

RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – It was not a scary ending to the regular season for the ERAU women's soccer team, as the Eagles picked up a 2-1 win over La Sierra on Halloween afternoon. Embry-Riddle got a goal in each half to finish the regular season on a two-game win streak.

ERAU wasted no time getting on the board on Sunday, as Aryanna Sanchez scored the game's first goal five minutes into the contest. It was Sanchez's first goal of the season, and the defender's first point since her assist on September 19.

On Friday Rae Yoshioka assisted Lauren Foster's goal; on Sunday, Foster returned the favor, dishing the ball to Yoshioka who doubled the Eagles' lead in the 52'. ERAU held that lead for the majority of the second half before its lead was cut in the 87', but held off any final attempts by La Sierra.

Embry-Riddle controlled most of the game, taking 19 shots, with 13 of them ending up on target. The team limited the Golden Eagles to just four shots (two on target) in the 90 minutes, and took six corner kicks throughout the afternoon.

The Eagles now wait for its seeding in the Cal Pac tournament. The team has not clinched a spot just yet, as it will have to wait for the results next week to see if it will be the Southwest Division champions, or if they will need an at-large bid to get in.
