Box Score MERCED, CALIF. – The conference postseason came to a stunning end for Embry-Riddle men's soccer on Thursday, as the Cal Pac's second seed lost 4-1 to host UC Merced. All five of the game's goals were scored in the second half.
The Bobcats' Juan Flores scored twice in a span of 8:29 to give his team the 2-0 in the 61'. That score lasted until the 70', when UC Merced scored its third, and then was awarded a fourth on an own goal by ERAU.
The Eagles were able to salvage a tally in the 90', as Aviad Golan scored with 50 seconds remaining. ERAU put together good opportunities in the second half getting four shots on target in the final 45 minutes.
Freshman keeper Elian Ammon had plenty of work as he made eight saves on the evening. He had a majority of his action in the second half, as he saw 10 total shot attempts send his way.
The Eagles will now wait to see what its fate will be for the NAIA National Tournament. The selections will be made Monday, November 15 at 11 a.m.
