Embry Cruises Into Cal Pac Final, Earns National Tournament Bid

RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – The ERAU women's soccer team clinched its spot in the NAIA National Tournament on Thursday night, taking a convincing 4-0 decision over UC Merced in the Cal Pac Tournament Semifinal. The team is playing in its fourth straight conference final in which it has played in the Cal Pac season.

The Eagles did not wait long to score, as Kylee Bennett scored in the 12' to give her team the lead. Lauren Foster followed up with a goal of her own 6:05 later, as she got a great feed from fellow all-Cal Pac team member Sierra Vicente.

Embry-Riddle continued to push with its two-goal lead, and finally broke through with a third one in the 67' thanks to Jennifer Inions. Rae Yoshioka continued her excellent offensive season as a freshman, scoring her first postseason goal in the 88' to wrap up the contest.

The Eagles had control of most of the match, taking 15 shots on target compared to the Bobcats' four. Mackenzie Osther stopped all four shots directed her way to earn her tenth shutout on the season.

Seven players accounted for the 15 shots on target by the Eagles, and nine players in total took a shot attempt. Yoshioka and Bennett had identical shooting lines, as they each took six shots, hitting the target four times each.

ERAU have a day off before facing Marymount California in the Cal Pac Conference Championship Game on Saturday. Kickoff from La Sierra in Riverside, Calif. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
