Box Score RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – After taking last season off, the ERAU women's soccer team returned to its usual place – the top of the Cal Pac. The Eagles finished off another tournament championship with a 3-1 win over Marymount California on Saturday night.
Embry-Riddle wasted no time getting on the board in Riverside, scoring 7:15 in thanks to outstanding freshman Rae Yoshioka. The Eagles continued to control possession until they struck again in the 22', as Lauren Foster doubled the team's lead off an assist from Sierra Vicente.
Marymount came out of the half looking to stay close, and cut the Eagle lead in half in the 51'. ERAU did not let another one in the remainder of the game, and were able to get back to a two goal lead in the 79' from the foot of Cal Pac Freshman of the Year Haley Harris.
The chances stayed even for most of the match, as ERAU had the shot on target advantage 7-5, and each team had a pair of corner kicks. Yoshioka had all three of her shot attempts hit the target, and Foster did the same with both of her shot attempts.
First team all-Cal Pac goalkeeper Mackenzie Osther made four saves, and finished the Cal Pac tournament allowing just one goal. Luz Lopez for Marymount made four saves on the night as well.
The Eagles now await to see where they will go for the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament. The opening matchups will be revealed by the NAIA Monday at 10 a.m.
