Box Score Prescott, Ariz. – Two quick goals to start the game set the tone for the No. 22 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's soccer team as the Eagles parlayed their early success into a 7-0 win over Park University – Gilbert in the California Pacific Conference opener for both teams. Adelie Zechmann (FR/Chandler, Ariz.) scored her first two career goals for ERAU.
Embry-Riddle (2-3-1, 1-0 Cal Pac) got off to a quick start, getting a shot on goal by Katy Hyde (JR/Denton, Texas) in the fist 36 seconds of the match. That was saved, but 30 second later a shot by Sierra Vicente (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.) was deflected into the box where Lauren Foster (SR/Chino Valley, Ariz.) put it away for what proved to be the game winner. A little over three minutes later Hyde connected to make it a quick 2-0 lead.
Stout defense did the rest for Embry-Riddle, with the Eagles preventing Park (0-4, 0-1 Cal Pac) from taking a shot in the half. ERAU's offense kept up the pressure and generated a total of 26 shots over the first 45 minutes. That pressure generated another goal for the Eagles in the 31st minute when Kylee Bennett (SO/Pocatello, Idaho) picked up her first goal of the season off an assist from Hyde.
It was much the same in the second half as the Embry-Riddle defense completed its dominant performance by holding the Buccaneers without a shot once again. The offense scored early once more, with Anabelle Hall (JR/Enumclaw, Wash.) finding the back of the net two minutes in. In the 63rd minute Zechmann notched her first off a pass from Reyna Moore (SO/Eagle River, Alaska), and then scored again less than seven minutes later. Galicia Monforte (FR/Rio Rancho, N.M.) completed the scoring in the 77th minute.
