Box Score VALLEJO, CALIF. – The Eagles wrapped up its first conference road trip of the season with a loss on Monday night, falling to Cal State Maritime 85-64 on Monday night. Christmas Togiai, Jr. led all Eagle scorers with 21 off the bench, and Conner Verdugo added 19 points.
Togiai, Jr. recorded three steals and four rebounds as well to complete a good all-around effort. Conner Verdugo was able to grab five rebounds of his own, and tied for the team lead in assists.
The Eagles were able to grab the game's first five points, and led by seven in the first half, but the Keelhaulers were able to use a 21-2 run through the middle of the first 20 minutes to take a large lead and never look back. The game's leading scorer came off the bench, as the Keelhaulers' Amil Fields scored 20 of his 27 in the first half to help his team pull away.
The Eagles will hit the road once more next Saturday, but will not have to go too far. Embry-Riddle will head to the Valley to take on Benedictine-Mesa, with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday night.
