Box Score CHANDLER, ARIZ. – The ERAU men's basketball team played its final road game of a brutal 16-game start away from home on Saturday, and came out firing. The Eagles were shooting over 50% against Benedictine-Mesa through the first ten minutes of the game and built a seven point lead, but the RedHawks went on a 15-0 run spanning 3:50 seconds to take over the lead.
BenU-Mesa slowly pulled away, and took home a 91-76 victory on Saturday night. Despite a hard-fought effort defensively from ERAU, the RedHawks shot 50% from the floor on the night.
David Teibo posted his second career double-double, and his second in the past three games. Teibo scored 13 points on 5-8 shooting, and grabbed ten rebounds, five on each end of the court.
Christmas Togiai, Jr. led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points off the bench, and shooting 7-10 on the night. Togiai, Jr. also contributed four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Conner Verdugo led all ERAU starters in scoring with 17, knocking down five of seven shots from behind the arc. Conner Verdugo also contributed in many different ways, grabbing five rebounds, dishing four assists and stealing the ball twice.
The Eagles will finally play its first home game of the season, hosting UC Merced on Friday, January 28. Tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
