Box Score MERCED, CALIF. – The 17th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team added another accomplishment to its season this Fall, as they clinched a first round bye in the Cal Pac Tournament with its 2-1 win over Merced. All three of the matches goals were scored in the first half, and the Eagles also remained undefeated not only in Cal Pac play, but in its road matches as well this season.
Kylee Bennett finally broke the scoring open on Saturday in the 60th minute after a great feed from Sierra Vicente. The Eagles would then strike again in the 73rd minute, as Aubrie Labno would extend the ERAU lead to a pair.
After shutting out its last 13 opponents, the Embry-Riddle shutout streak was finally snapped. The Eagles were finally scored on in the 80th minute, ending the impressive shutout streak at 1186:38. Annabelle Ruckle made four saves to pick up her 11th win of the season on Saturday, the most wins in the Cal Pac.
Embry-Riddle also had 12 shots, with six of those hitting the target. Vicente had her assist, and kept firing toward a goal as well, finishing with five shots and three shots on goal.
The Eagles will return home for Senior Day as they roll toward the postseason. Embry-Riddle will host Westcliff in the final game in Prescott in 2022, with kickoff from Varsity Field scheduled for 1 p.m.
