Box Score MESA, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday doing what it does best – shutting out its opponent in a big victory. The Eagles picked up a 4-0 win over Benedictine Mesa on the road, scoring three times in the second half to pull away for its 15th win of the season.
It took until the 37th minute for the first goal of the night, as Kylee Bennett broke through to give ERAU the lead. Bennett scored her seventh of the season, and has two goals in her last three matches.
The Eagles would score two goals 57 second apart to grab a commanding 3-0 lead. Katy Hyde scored her second of the season at 56:49, and then Rae Yoshioka would get a goal of her own at 57:46.
Yoshioka would score again later in the second half, picking up another tally in the 77th minute. It is Yoshioka's Cal Pac-leading 17th goal, allowing her to put a bow on her Cal Pac Player of the Year-type season.
Embry-Riddle controlled play and chances most of the night, finishing with a 24-5 shot advantage and a 10-3 shots on goal advantage. Annabelle Ruckle made three saves for her 16th win and 10th complete-game shutout, leading the conference in both categories.
The Eagles will get a week off from play before heading out to Riverside, Calif. for the final two rounds of the Cal Pac Tournament. Embry-Riddle will play Thursday, November 10 against the winner of the match between the fourth and fifth seeds, which will take place next week.
