Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle men's soccer team used a few potential momentum-changing moments to turn what could have been a close game on the scoreboard into a 5-0 win over Park-Gilbert on Thursday night. The Eagles are now 7-0-0 in Cal Pac contests, and extended its winning streak to eight games.
Embry-Riddle did not wait to get on the board on Thursday, scoring just 2:06 into the match. David Ramos, who's father made a surprise arrival from Spain earlier in the day, scored his first goal of the season to get the Eagles off and running.
The Eagles would strike again in the 20th minute, as Alex Frances scored his sixth of the season to extend the lead. Defender Heeirthan Shanthan picked up the assist on that tally, his first point of the year.
Embry-Riddle really pulled away in the second half, scoring three goals in a 10:17 span. It started with Riley Timko's goal at 54:58, his first of the season.
Aviad Golan scored 4:02 later, putting away a good feed from Lucas Garcia at 59:00. Paul Fulop then scored his fourth of the season after getting an excellent pass from Kristian Bielicki.
Elias Ammon made three saves on Thursday for his second shutout in the last three games. After watching one penalty kick go off the crossbar earlier in the night, Ammon made a diving save on Park-Gilbert's second penalty kick in the 89th minute.
The Eagles will carry its eight-game win streak on the road in a matchup with Providence Christian on Saturday. Kickoff from the Kare Youth League in Irwindale, Calif. is scheduled for 2 p.m.
