Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – Last season, the Embry-Riddle women's soccer team played a double-overtime thriller with Park-Gilbert, breaking through in the dying minutes to take the 2021 matchup 1-0 in the Valley. It seemed that the Eagles had just as many chances to score on Thursday as they did in last season's contest, and converted the opportunities into more goals in a 3-0 win over the Buccaneers.
It took just over a half hour for the Eagles to finally break through, as Sierra Vicente got ERAU on the board in the 32nd minute. Embry-Riddle used a great attack toward goal, as Adelie Zechmann and Kylee Bennett worked together to set up Vicente for the goal.
The Eagles started the second half quickly, and scored a pair of insurance goals in a 2:47 span. Rae Yoshioka scored her Cal Pac-leading 11th goal at 53:02, then Kylee Bennett scored her fifth of the year at 56:15.
Aubrie Labno, who was coming off a Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Week performance over the last two games, had an assist on Bennett's goal in the 57th minute. Katelyn Kelch set up Yoshioka for the game's second goal, and has posted a helper in back-to-back games.
Embry-Riddle has now shut out its last 11 opponents, and has extended its shutout streak to 1017:36. Annabelle Ruckle made four saves for her eighth solo shutout of the season, to go along with three combined clean sheets. No save was bigger than in the leaping stop Ruckle made on Park-Gilbert's best opportunity in the second half.
The Eagles will look for shutout number 12 on Saturday when they travel to take on Providence Christian. Embry-Riddle plays at the Kare Youth League in Irwindale, Calif. against the Seabeggars, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
