Box Score IRWINDALE, CALIF. – The 18th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team continued its excellent season on Saturday, defeating Providence Christian 7-0 in another road victory. The Eagles shut out the Seabeggars as well, the 12th consecutive opponent ERAU has done that to.
Ellie Neal got Embry-Riddle off an running quickly, as she scored what counts as the game-winning goal in the fifth minute. Neal scored her fourth goal of the season, leading all Eagle defenders in goals and points.
Jamie Black and Rae Yoshioka traded each of the next four goals by ERAU, as they pushed the lead to 5-0. Black scored in the 15th minute and the 51st minute, while Yoshioka scored in the 22nd and 54th minute.
Yoshioka has now scored a Cal Pac-leading 13 goals on the season, and has scored at least once in the last six games. Black has been excellent as well recently, and her seven goals is now in the top five of the Cal Pac, and leads all conference Freshmen.
The Eagles were able to tack on two more goals in a 1:10 stretch late in the second half, as Aubrie Labno and Scarlett Frohardt were able to pick up tallies. Labno struck at the 74:23 mark, while Frohardt found the back of the net at 75:33.
Embry-Riddle possessed the ball and dominated the play so well that they did not allow Providence Christian to even attempt a shot. The Eagles shutout streak is now extended to 1107:36 with the Saturday evening victory.
The Eagles will look to clinch a first round bye in the Cal Pac Tournament next week as they hit the road once again for a pair of games. The road trip starts with a matchup against Cal Maritime on Thursday, October 13th.
