MESA, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's golf team dominated the Redhawk Rumble from start to finish, taking home the team championship following the two-round even. The Eagles shot a good 317 on Monday, than posted an excellent team 305 on Tuesday to win by 46 shots.
ERAU has won the team championship in its last two events, and by a significantly large margin. The Eagles have been the only team to have a team score less than +100 in the last pair of tournaments as the team gains momentum heading toward the winter break.
All six of the team's players finished inside of the top 12 in the excellent two-round showing. The Eagles were also the only team to have every player post a round under 90 on a very difficult course.
Kaetlin Halseth and Hailey Stevenson finished tied for second, posting identical scores in each round. They each shot 78 (+7) on Monday, then improved by two shots with a 76 on Tuesday.
Libby Axen used a big second round on Tuesday to jump up the individual leaderboard and finish sixth. Her 75 in the final 18 holes was the second-lowest score on Tuesday, and missed finishing in the top five by just one shot.
Cami Culp was the highest-finishing individual in the event, placing tied for tenth. Hannah Spiller was just one shot behind finishing in the top-10, placing 12th.
The Eagles will have one more tournament to wrap up the Fall, as they will return to the Valley for the Firestorm Fall Invitational. First round from the Verrado Golf Club is scheduled for Monday, November 7.
