Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The 19th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team showed once again why it won the Cal Pac in its return to play last season, as the Eagles used a big second half for a 5-0 win over Pacific Union. The Eagles had plenty of chances in the first half on Friday, and finally converted on a few similar ones in the final 45 minutes against the Pioneers.
Rae Yoshioka scored twice on Friday, and starting with her excellent corner kick in the 14th minute. Yoshioka fired the ball from the corner right into the back of the net for her second tally of the season.
Yoshioka then scored again in the 70' minute, the final marker in a stretch where the Eagles put up three goals in just under 20 minutes. In that time, Katelyn Kelch scored her first of the season, and Aubrie Labno got her second of the campaign.
Kelch had a big day offensively, as she assisted on Yoshioka's second goal. Kylee Bennett also was active in the offensive attack, as she had a pair of assists to go along with three shots.
Madeline Orges also scored her first career goal on Friday, putting the ball in the back of the net during the 78th minute. Orges scored on her only shot of the game, and was one of 20 ERAU shots on Friday.
It was the fifth consecutive shutout for the Eagles, who have not allowed a goal since the season opener. Annabelle Ruckle made a pair of saves to push Embry-Riddle's shutout streak to 477:36.
The Eagles will get back on the field Sunday when the host Simpson in the weekend finale. Kickoff from Varsity Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
