Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – For the sixth consecutive game, the 19th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team shut out its opponent, this time holding Simpson University scoreless on Sunday. The Eagles used a 29th minute goal to secure a sweep of its opening weekend of conference play.
The lone tally of the game came off the foot of Paige Thompson, who buried a great corner kick from Rae Yoshioka. It was Yoshioka's third assist in her last three games, and is tied with teammate Kylee Bennett for the Cal Pac assist leader with four.
The Eagles had plenty of chances throughout the day to add onto its lead, as they fired 24 shots. ERAU had 11 of those shots hit the target, led by Yoshioka's six.
Annabelle Ruckle earned yet another shutout victory, her third consecutive victory and fifth straight decision. The Embry-Riddle shutout streak had another 90 minutes added to it, and now sits at 567:36.
The Eagles will now hit the road for the first time in conference play, as they have a pair of games in Southern California. Next week starts with a matchup at Soka on Thursday, September 22, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
