Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – For the ninth consecutive game, the Embry-Riddle women's soccer team shut out its opponent, this time an 8-0 win over La Sierra on Thursday night. The Eagles scored five goals in the first half to build what was eventually an insurmountable lead, and improved its Cal Pac record to 5-0-0.
Rae Yoshioka scored ERAU's first two goals of the night, striking in the eighth minute before doing so again in the 27th minute. Her first tally came off a great feed from Aubrie Labno, who pushed the ball quickly over to the sophomore midfielder following a great ball from Haley Matthews.
Only 2:02 passed from Yoshioka's second goal when Labno got on the board to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. In the final ten minutes before halftime, Kylee Bennett and Jamie Black each scored to give ERAU the five-goal lead into the break.
Bennett would score the first goal of the final 45 minutes, and her second of the contest, in the 55th minute. Just 2:39 later, Yoshioka would pick up the hat trick, scoring from the assists of Kylee Bennett and Scarlett Frohardt.
Madeline Orges would score the final goal of the contest, with the assist coming from Lauren Otto, Otto's first career point. In total, five different Eagles scored, and eight different ERAU players would have at least one assist.
The Eagles dominated play all night long as well, taking 25 shots and putting 15 on target. Annabelle Ruckle and Lucy Hayward combined for three saves on Thursday, and pushed the Embry-Riddle shutout streak to 837:36.
Embry-Riddle will get back on the field on Saturday when they host Antelope Valley. Kickoff from Varsity Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
