Box Score RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team jumped out to a lead early in the first half, one that they would carry most of the way toward halftime. A 14-5 run by La Sierra before the break put ERAU down to start the final 20 minutes, and the Eagles would not get the lead back in a 68-56 loss on Friday afternoon.
It was another solid game for Dennis Pomazanov, as he finished with 12 points and ten rebounds. Pomazanov made five of his eight shot attempts from the floor, and pulled in eight defensive rebounds while also giving his team a pair of second-chance opportunities on the offensive end.
Conner Verdugo tied for the team lead in points on Friday, finishing with 12 points of his own. Conner Verdugo also had four assists, four rebounds and a pair of steals.
Trevor Weir put in great effort as well, grabbing nine rebounds and blocking a pair of shots to go along with seven points. Weir had a game-high five offensive rebounds, and was also able to log an assist.
Christmas Togiai, Jr. was all over the stat sheet too, dishing out a game-high five assists and grabbing six rebounds. Togiai, Jr. also had a steal and a block on the defensive side on Friday.
Embry-Riddle will look for a split of the road trip when they visit Antelope Valley on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff from the Pioneer Events Center in Lancaster, Calif. on Sunday is scheduled for 5 p.m. AZT/4 p.m. PST.
