Box Score On Senior Day in Prescott, Embry-Riddle came away with a 3-0 victory over the Lions of Soka University.
In the first half, the Eagles took 19 shots as they forced the Lions goalkeeper Mackinzie Stenstrom to make ten saves, however Jamie Black (Tucson, Ariz.) found the back of the net in the 29th minute. Black collected the ball outside of the 18 yard box and fired a shot that went just over the outstretched hands of Stenstrom. ERAU took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the final 45 minutes, Embry-Riddle continued to dominate as the fired off another 13 shots. In the 5th minute, Aryanna Sanchez (Tucson, Ariz.) played the ball forward to Jamie Brandon (Phoenix, Ariz.). Brandon one-touch7ed it on to Sanchez who found Haley Harris (Tucson, Ariz.) at the top of the box wide open. Harris scored as the Eagles went up 2-0. Sanchez added another assist in the 62nd minute as she played Kaitlyn Roskopf (Chino Valley, Ariz). Roskopf shot the ball into the far left corner and ERAU went on to win the game 3-0.
Lucy Hayward (Torrance, Calif.) made two saves in goal for the Eagles as she earned her first solo shutout of the season.
Embry-Riddle will play their last conference game on Thursday as they head to Legacy Park in Mesa to take on the Buccaneers of Park-Gilbert. Kick-off is set for 6pm on the stadium field.
