Box Score Embry-Riddle outshot the Red Hawks 15-7 but couldn't find a second goal in a game where they held most of the possession as the score tonight from Varsity Field ended 1-1.
In the first half, ERAU looked comfortable as they passed the ball around and controlled the game. The Eagles outshot Benedictine Mesa 6-1 in the half but only forced the Red Hawks keeper to make one save in the first 45 minutes of play. For the second game in a row, Riley Timko (Ellensburg, Wash.) scored a goal for Embry-Riddle as he headed the ball into the back of the net in the just before the half was over. Josh McBeth (Liverpool, England) was credited with the assist as he found TImko at the back post.
The second half was much like the first with ERAU controlling the game as they took nine shots and forced the Red Hawk goalkeeper Aiden Klein to make five saves. BenU Mesa however used a counter attack to even the score with the Eagles on a goal from Alan Garibaldy in the 63rd minute. Embry-Riddle continued to put pressure on Benedictine Mesa, but were unable to find the game winning goal as the score was 1-1.
ERAU has a quick turnaround as they head to Surprise on Monday as they will play the Spirit of OUAZ at 7:00pm.
