Box Score Surprise, Ariz. - A Monday night non-conference matchup between OUAZ and Embry-Riddle went the way of OUAZ tonight with a final score of 2-0 in Surprise.
In the first half, both teams struggled offensively as both Embry-Riddle and OUAZ each took just one shot. Heeirthan Shanthan (Oslo, Norway) was credited for the ERAU shot. The Eagles had one corner kick compared to three for the Spirit as the teams headed into halftime tied 0-0.
OUAZ struck first as Ingram Kusaloka finished off a pass from Peyton Montiel-Ville to give the Spirit a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute. After the goal, the Eagles fired off three shots, but were unable to find the back of the net. In the 71st minute, Kusaloka doubled the OUAZ lead. ERAU had some chances, but were unable to convert as the Spirit went on to win the game 2-0.
Embry-Riddle plays next on Sunday in Riverside as they get back to Cal Pac play against La Sierra University at 12:30pm.
