Box Score Embry-Riddle Women's Soccer scored one first half goal and two in the second half on their way to a 3-0 victory over Benedictine Mesa in Merced to advance the Eagles to the Cal Pac Championship game.
Jamie Black (Tucson, Ariz.) scored her 10th goal of the season for ERAU in the 13th minute off an assist from Kylee Bennett (Pocatello, Idaho). Despite Embry-Riddle controlling the possession and taking 11 first half shots, the Eagles only led 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Benedictine put a little pressure on ERAU early as they had two corner kicks and a free kick, but Embry-Riddle settled in and controlled the rest of the game. The Eagles took 18 shots in the second half and scored two more goals. In the 70th minute, Jamie Brandon (Phoenix, Ariz.) took a throw in from Aryanna Sanchez (Tucson, Ariz.) and beat her defender. Brandon was able to sneak the ball in at the near post to give ERAU the 2-0 lead. In the 87th minute Aubrie Labno (Phoenix, Ariz.) played a great ball into Adelie Zechmann (Chandler, Ariz.) who put it past the goalkeeper and give Embry-Riddle the 3-0 win.
ERAU will play again on Saturday against the tournament hosts UC Merced at 6pm on Bobcat Field for the Cal Pac Tournament Championship.
