Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The first half of Sunday's game against Benedictine Mesa saw both teams take a bit to get the offense going. Embry-Riddle took a 31-29 lead into the half, and both teams were hovering around 30% shooting.
The offense picked up quickly in the second half, as both teams were looking to grab control in the must-win Cal Pac contest. While the Eagles fought hard, BenU-Mesa was able to take away a win from the ERAU Activity Center on Sunday.
In his final home game of his career, Conner Verdugo finished with a team-high 16 points to go along with four rebounds. Conner Verdugo also had four rebounds with an assist, a steal and a block.
Dennis Pomazanov was a rebounding machine on Sunday, pulling in 16 rebounds to go along with nine points. Pomazanov grabbed 14 of those rebounds on the defensive end, and also had an assist and a block.
Jake Klingler shot 50% of the floor and was perfect from the free throw line to finish with 13 points. Klingler had five rebounds as well, one of four players to finish with five or more rebounds on Sunday.
The Eagles will continue to fight for the Cal Pac Tournament with its final road trip of the regular season. Embry-Riddle will play its second-to-last game of the regular season at Westcliff on Thursday, February 16.
