Box Score In a back and forth game between Cal Pac rivals UC Merced and Embry-Riddle, the Bobcats came away with the 1-0 win over the Eagles on a hot Sunday afternoon in Prescott.
In the first twenty minutes of the game, ERAU seemed to control possession as the Eagles had two corner kicks and took two shots, one was blocked and the other went just wide of the goal.
UC Merced scored in the 36th minute on a goal from Xavier Barajas and went into the half with the 1-0 lead.
The second half was physical as 16 fouls were called, 8 on each team. Embry-Riddle's best chance to tie the score came in the 63rd minute as a Lucas Garcia (Barcelona, Spain) shot went off the crossbar.
Alex Frances (Valencia, Spain) led the Eagles with three shots and Garcia added two of his own.
ERAU travels to Northern California next weekend as they play Pacific Union on Thursday at 1pm.
