Box Score Embry-Riddle used two first half goals to beat UC Merced who was also previously unbeaten in Cal Pac play.
In the 23rd minute, Jamie Black (Tucson, Ariz.) took a touch around her defender and was fouled setting the Eagles up for a dangerous free kick. Rae Yoshioka (Pearl City, Hawaii) stepped up to take the kick and placed in perfectly over the wall and gave ERAU a 1-0 lead.
After Adelie Zechmann (Chandler, Ariz.) hit the cross bar in the 42 minute, Embry-Riddle won the ball back and found Yoshioka. Yoshioka beat her defender and played the ball to Kari Kasun (Prescott, Ariz.) who doubled the ERAU lead and made it 2-0 heading into the half.
Embry-Riddle had plenty more chances to add to their lead in the second half as Black hit the post and a few other shots went just wide. ERAU had 17 shots, 10 of which were on frame during the game.
In goal for the Eagles, Annabelle Ruckle (Phoenix, Ariz.) had four saves.
A trip to Northern California to take on Pacific Union is next for Embry-Riddle. Kickoff is set for 4pm on Thursday in Angwin.
