Box Score In a game that Embry-Riddle dominated in Redding on Saturday afternoon, ERAU and Simpson tied 1-1.
In the first half, the Eagles took three shots on goal, the best of which came from the foot of Haley Matthews (Phoenix, Ariz.) that the Simpson keeper pushed out for a corner kick. Embry-Riddle was not able to capitalize on any of their opportunities as the score was 0-0 at the half.
The second half was much like the first with ERAU keeping most of the possession and creating more scoring opportunities. In the 73rd minute, the Red Hawks were rewarded a questionable penalty kick that Annabelle Ruckle (Phoenix, Ariz.) was able to get a hand on but wasn't able to save and Simpson took a 1-0 lead.
Embry-Riddle came back though and tied the game on a Rae Yoshioka (Pearl City, Hawaii) goal as Jamie Brandon (Phoenix, Ariz.) was credited with the assist.
The Eagles made the Simpson goalkeeper work as they took three shots on goal in the last five minutes, but she was able to make the saves and the game ended 1-1.
Embry-Riddle returns home to play Benedictine Mesa University on Saturday night at 5pm on Varsity Field.
