Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

ERAU Wins in Mesa

Embry-Riddle finished the week 1-0-1 after beating Benedictine Mesa 3-1 Saturday night at Lehi Sports Park in Mesa.

Unlike the Eagles game against Park on Thursday evening, this game had plently of offense for both teams.  Julian Albanil (Scottsdale, Ariz.) opened the scoring in the 45th minute giving ERAU the 1-0 lead just before the half.

Right as the second half started, Aleksandar Mihajlovic (Belgrade, Serbia) drove down the right side of the field and played the ball across the box.  Brandon Pulido-Santala (Westminster, Colo.) was there to put it in the back of the net and make it 2-0.

The game got chippy and the referee was quick with the cards.  In the 55th minute an Eagle picked up his second yellow card which put ERAU down to 10 players for the last 35 minutes.  That didn't matter to Embry-Riddle as Nitai Bental (Shoham, Israel) scored a goal shortly after to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Benedictine Mesa scored in the 68th minute, but Embry-Riddle held on for the 3-1 win.

ERAU will be home on Wednesday to take on the Master's University Mustangs on Varsity Field with kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm.
