Eagles Fall in Santa Clarita

Embry-Riddle faced a tough challenge on the road in the GSAC Semifinals against The Master's University (TMU), ultimately falling in straight sets. The set scores were 22-25, 24-26, and 17-25.  Despite the loss, the Eagles showed resilience and moments of brilliance throughout the match.

First Set: Embry-Riddle started the match with determination, keeping the score close in the first set. The Eagles managed to tie the score multiple times and even took the lead on a few occasions. However, TMU's consistent attack led to a 25-22 set win for the home team.

Second Set: The second set was a thrilling contest, with both teams exchanging points and leads. ERAU pushed TMU to the limit, but narrowly lost 26-24. The Eagles' effort in this set highlighted their competitive spirit and ability to challenge a strong opponent.

Third Set: In the third set, Embry-Riddle struggled to maintain the momentum from the previous sets. TMU capitalized on this and secured a 25-17 victory, closing out the match.

Key Players for Embry-Riddle:

  • Kelly Hansen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) delivered a solid performance with 10 kills and 12 points, showcasing her offensive skills.
  • Emma Barber  (Goodyear, Ariz.) also contributed 10 kills and added 10 points to the team's effort.
  • Katie Rolle  (Missoula, Mont.) was instrumental in setting up plays, recording 23 assists and 8 digs.
  • Dalia Haase (Tucson, Ariz.) demonstrated her defensive capabilities with 6 block assists.
Embry-Riddle will be back on the court again next August as the Eagles look forward to their second year in the GSAC conference.
