Kaetlin Halseth (Kingwood, Texas) shot a 69 in her opening round at Las Colinas Golf Club in Queen Creek, Ariz. on Monday and used her momentum to win the event with a three-round total of 213.
Embry-Riddle had eight golfers participate in the event and the Eagles finished in the top eight spots.Â
Following Halseth in 2
nd was
Maisy Alsen (Gilbert, Ariz.). After shooting 74 in both the first and second rounds, Alsen finished with a 69.
Charlotte Giffin (Woodinville, Wash.) came in third place. Giffin finished the event +5. She shot a 73 followed by a 71 and finished with a 74.Â
Tying in 4
th place was
Olivia Zamarripa (Albuquerque, New Mexico) and
Nicole Ikeda (Honolulu, Hawaii). Zamarripa shot a 72 in the first round, a 71 in the second round, and finished with a 79. Ikeda started with a 77, then shot a 72 in the second round and a 73 in the final round.Â
Bellamaria Mantini (Chandler, Ariz.) was next for ERAU. She finished with a three-round total of 223, just one stroke behind Ikeda.Â
Next for Embry-Riddle was
Libby Axen (Tucson, Ariz.). Axen opened with a 77 followed by an 80 in the second round. She finished with a 71 in the final round.Â
Rounding out the Eagles was
Victoria Ditching (Fullerton, Calif.). Ditching had a three-round score of 235.Â
Embry-Riddle will play again next week in the OUAZ Fall Invitational taking place at Sterling Grove Golf & CC in Surprise, Arizona.Â
