A cold shooting night paired with a slow 3rd quarter led to Embry-Riddle losing to Benedictine Mesa with a final score of 70-61 in the Activity Center on Saturday.
The game started off tightly contested, but Benedictine Mesa quickly established a significant lead by the four-minute mark of the first period. They held onto this advantage through to the end, despite commendable efforts from the Eagles. At halftime, the score stood at Benedictine Mesa 34, Embry-Riddle 31, hinting at a possible comeback that unfortunately never materialized for the Eagles.
Hannah Urbano was the standout performer for the Eagles, scoring 15 points, followed by
Ella Schott who added 10 points to the Eagles' tally. Additionally,
Kate McBride made notable contributions with 6 points and an impressive 12 rebounds, showcasing her prowess on the defensive front.
Other key players for Embry-Riddle included
Micaela Hidalgo who recorded 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, and
