After going down 3-0 in the top of the third, Embry-Riddle tried to complete a comeback but was unable as the Eagles fell to Oklahoma Panhandle State 5-3 in Phoenix on Friday afternoon.
After the Aggies went up 3-0,
Roberto Garza-Nunez reached on an error with one out in the bottom of the 4th.
Owen Cain was then hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second.
Konner Nelson recorded his first collegiate hit, a two out, two run double that brough home Garza-Nunez and Cain's courtesy runner
Kaden Menard.
Oklahoma Panhandle State scored two more runs in the top of the 6th. The Eagles managed to get one run back in the bottom of the 8th. With one out, Garza-Nunez reached on a walk followed by a single from
Blake Moore. Another hit by Nelson brought in Garza-Nunez to bring ERAU within two. Embry-Riddle stranded the bases loaded though and the final score was 5-3 in favor of the Aggies.
