Eagles Fall Short in Road Battle Against The Master's

Embry-Riddle dropped a hard-fought contest on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 2-0 to The Master's University at Reese Field.

Despite a determined effort and standout performances from several Eagles, Embry-Riddle (3-5-1) couldn't find the back of the net against a resilient Mustangs squad. The hosts struck once in each half, while the Eagles were unable to convert their chances into goals.

Senior forward Nitai Bental led the offensive charge for Embry-Riddle, registering five shots, two of which were on target, and one that rattled the crossbar in the 20th minute. Lucas Thompson and Cesar Battistini also tested the Mustangs' keeper, but Julian Graham stood tall in goal, recording four saves to preserve the shutout.

The Master's opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Zach Rodriguez capitalized on a pass from Michael Masimango. The Eagles responded with increased pressure, but couldn't break through the Mustangs' defense. In the 84th minute, Trent Rickard sealed the win for the home team with a goal assisted by Kai Terentieff.

Embry-Riddle goalkeeper Alex Bissett was a bright spot for the Eagles, making nine saves on the day and keeping the team within striking distance throughout the match.

The Eagles will be at home next week against Hope International at 7:30pm on Thursday evening.
