Embry-Riddle dropped a tough road contest to Lewis-Clark State on Saturday evening, falling 86–68 at the P1FCU Activity Center. The Eagles move to 5–2 on the season after the non-conference matchup.
Embry-Riddle came out firing early, taking a brief 4–3 lead behind a layup from Noah Gifft at the 17:51 mark of the first half. Forward Peter Dress set the tone offensively, scoring 17 of his game-high 21 points in the opening period. Dress finished the night shooting 10-for-18 from the floor and added six rebounds.
Despite Dress's hot start, Lewis-Clark State answered with a 12–2 run midway through the first half and never looked back. The Warriors shot an impressive 57% in the first half and carried a 48–37 advantage into the break.
The Eagles battled in the second half, trimming the deficit to just four points at 44–48 after a Gifft three-pointer with 18:19 remaining. However, Lewis-Clark State's depth proved decisive, as the hosts outscored Embry-Riddle 38–31 in the final frame and built their largest lead of 19 points late in the game.
ERAU will head to Northern Arizona for an exhibition game on Tuesday with tip-off scheduled for 6pm.
