Eagles Battle Tough Against Undefeated Eastern Oregon

Embry-Riddle fell short against undefeated Eastern Oregon, 73–61, in a neutral-site matchup Saturday evening. The Eagles fought hard to close the gap late but couldn't overcome a slow start against the Mountaineers (7–0).

Eastern Oregon jumped out to a 20–12 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 33–23 at halftime. Despite the deficit, Embry-Riddle responded in the second half, matching EOU point-for-point in the third and fourth quarters (19 each), but the early hole proved too deep.

Makenzie Alapai provided a spark off the bench, scoring 8 points and pulling down a team-high 8 rebounds. Katie McBride led the Eagles with 14 points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting and added six free throws. Riley Morris-Rexford chipped in 10 points, while Nicole Evenson knocked down two key three-pointers for 6 points.

Embry-Riddle's bench contributed 32 points, showcasing depth and resilience. The Eagles dominated second-half paint play and improved shooting efficiency, finishing at 37.7% from the field and 69.2% from the line. However, Eastern Oregon's hot start and perimeter shooting (7-of-20 from three) kept the Mountaineers in control.

ERAU will return to Arizona and play next on Thursday, Dec. 4th against Benedictine Mesa to continue GSAC play.
