Embry-Riddle celebrated its two seniors,
Alexis Creager and
Emma Barber, and capped its season with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Park-Gilbert on Saturday evening in the Eagle Gym. Â
Set scores were 25-19, 25-22, and 25-12, as Embry-Riddle controlled the match from start to finish. The Eagles hit an efficient .227 on the night, highlighted by a blistering .393 attack percentage in the opening set.
Barber led the offensive charge with 15 kills, hitting .267 and adding 12 digs for a strong two-way performance. Anela Chew chipped in 7 kills (.222), while Hannah Clear added 6 kills and a block assist. Setter Alice Tuci orchestrated the attack with 18 assists and contributed 4 kills on just 5 swings (.800).
Defensively, Embry-Riddle tallied 38 digs, with Barber and Ronni Lyons (8 digs) anchoring the back row. At the net, the Eagles posted 5 service aces, including three from Barber, and recorded five blocks to stifle Park-Gilbert's offense.
After a competitive second set that featured 10 ties and 9 lead changes, the Eagles slammed the door in the third, racing to a 25-12 win behind aggressive serving and efficient hitting.
