Embry-Riddle put together a gritty performance against Huntington (IN) on Friday evening at the Activity Center, but came up just short in a 65–59 loss.
After trailing 38–27 at halftime, Embry-Riddle surged back with a 15-point third quarter and matched Huntington point-for-point in the final frame. The Eagles shot 36.7% from the field and knocked down three triples, while Huntington finished at 37.9% overall.
Morgan Mann led the Eagles with 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench, providing a spark in the paint and at the free-throw line (7-of-11). Jordyn Smith added 13 points and three steals, while Makenzie Alapai chipped in 10 points and five boards. Morgan Evenson contributed seven points, including a first-quarter three-pointer that helped keep ERAU close early.
Embry-Riddle dominated in transition, tallying 18 fast-break points and the bench delivered 18 points to keep the Eagles in striking distance. Despite committing 13 turnovers, ERAU's defense forced eight takeaways and held Huntington to just one made three-pointer all game.
The Eagles closed the gap to six in the final minute after a late layup by Alapai, but Huntington sealed the win at the free-throw line. Addie Shank paced the Foresters with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
