Embry-Riddle edged past Truett McConnell with a 1-0 overtime victory on Friday afternoon at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in the NAIA Quarterfinal round.

After 97 minutes of scoreless soccer, Tessa Updegraff delivered the decisive moment for the Eagles, scoring her 11th goal of the season just before the end of the first overtime period. The midfielder capitalized on a well-placed assist from Samantha Wright, who orchestrated the play from the right side to set up the golden goal at 97:58.

Embry-Riddle controlled much of the match, outshooting Truett McConnell 15-4 and earning a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Despite the offensive pressure, Truett McConnell's goalkeeper Danica Wittmann kept her team in contention with three saves, including two in overtime. On the other end, Aubrianne Dupre anchored the Eagles' defense, recording two saves and posting her 13th shutout of the season.

The Eagles' attack was relentless throughout regulation, with Jamie Brandon leading the team with five shots, while Wright and Updegraff combined for four shots on goal. ERAU's backline and midfield dominated possession, limiting Truett McConnell to just three shots on frame.

With the win, Embry-Riddle advances to the NAIA Semifinals where the Eagles will play Keiser at 5pm Arizona time on Saturday.
